Intrada is releasing Mancini's score as a two-disc set, featuring the full score recorded for the film, the LP sequencing, and alternate cues. (The original, Mancini-only cut of the film has since become more widely available, and most revival house screenings of the film feature this longer European version.) Henry Mancini composed the film's exciting original orchestral score, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, but when the film was released in the United States, its run time was reduced from 116 minutes to 101 minutes, and parts of Mancini's score were replaced by new music composed by Michael Kamen in hopes of making the film more traditionally scary. Originally titled Space Vampires (until Tri-Star, its American distributor, decided that wasn't a classy enough title), the film was directed by horror legend Tobe Hooper ( The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Poltergeist) and starred Steve Railsback, Oscar nominees Peter Firth and Frank Finlay, Patrick Stewart, Michael Gothard, and a memorably naked Mathilda May, with visual effects by Star Wars Oscar winner John Dykstra. LIFEFORCE, released in 1985, was Cannon Pictures' attempt at making a lavish sci-fi horror film in the vein of Nigel Kneale's Quatermass stories. This week Intrada has released two separate score albums by two different composers for the same film. Exclusive distribution by SCREEN ARCHIVES ENTERTAINMENT. You’ll still get scheduled full time as a part time employee, so they can screw you on benefits. So to clarify, if you have a full section- 10 tables for instance- for a showing, you’ll have Christmas tree of lights to have to answer, ALL AT ONCE, WITH A TIME LIMIT before you’re written up for neglection! Oh and there’s no real benefits, unless you’re full time. To make things worse, they even get a little server bell- or button anyway, to summon you with for every tissue/ketchup/fork they need. Ipic westwood movie#All your tables will come 5 minutes before the movie rather than a half hour, which they are asked to, if they plan on ordering. And if you thought being busy was fun because of the money? You’re wrong. The lack of communication from management (even when they give your walkie talkies) is frightening. So forget about your tips if you were hoping for any that day. To go along with everything, the place pimps itself to private parties, and refuses to give you any warning if your whole shift becomes a you catering privately events, for a LOW LOW service charge. People also will stiff you on $100+ checks not realizing it’s also A RESTAURANT IN A THEATER. It is quite unbelievable how many ways things could go wrong for your guest that are out of your hands. They will bring the wrong food to the wrong tables, not bring popcorn before the movie, or forget the utensils, all small things that will cause you to have to drop everything and run around he building looking for it. ![]() The food runners even hate their job so much, they will call out daily, making a busy day for you HELL. If it’s slow (which is often), you will not get called off until you’ve already gotten ready and showed up. The schedules are malleable, but you’ll still get scheduled hours before you’re needed for any real table service. Could you pick any more movies that don’t bring crowds? The stairs you have to run every day it’s busy = unbelievable depending on the location. ![]()
